Azure Blue’s debut single is still on sweet rotation in Swedish national
radio P3. We’ve gathered a celebration to the song in a super kit of a
video, a remix, the artwork and mp3. Our wizzard of art has also built a
home page for Azure Blue.
On the live front Tobias has gathered a group of awesome musicians and
will follow up this summer’s gig as a trio with a premiere as a five man
band on September 23rd. The club is Svenska Musikklubben and the venue
Debaser Slussen in Stockholm.
We will also keep you posted about the next single and the definite
release date. There will be a physical release of the album Rule Of
Thirds in the fall and you’ll be able to find it in a good variation of
countries around the world. More info about where and when soon.

Hybris Publishing proudly presents our latest addition – Azure Blue.
Azure Blue is the new solo project from Tobias Isaksson. We’ve known Tobias for years as a talented songwriter and a colorful profile on the Swedish pop scene. His old bands Irene and Laurel Music attracted worldwide recognition, documented from The Allmusic Guide to the blogosphere, but this is a brand new start. With Azure Blue, Tobias has surpassed all his previous work. The whole process has been like watching a baby dolphin being born.
Tobias as a person is witty and confident but with some Steve Zissou qualities that cracks us up. But although this is present in some of the lyrics it’s not about comedy. The name is a paraphrase of Dennis Wilson’s “Pacific Ocean Blue”. Tobias says: “It’s Wilson’s honest look with the epic beard and the ocean blue mood itself that has inspired me. Along with other male storytellers like Earnest Hemingway, Klas Östergren and Grant McLennan. I wanted to make a mature AOR record but ended up flirting with new wave and new romantic as well.”
With the producer and instrumentalist Claes Björklund (Travis, Ron Sexsmith, A-ha etc) Tobias has created pure pop gold. A New Gold Dream 2010/2011/2012. Timeless yet modern. It’s honest, pure and wise like Paul Auster’s The Red Notebook. It makes us laugh and cry and pick up a novel.
